The Birds are Back
“The Birds are Back!”
Winter is almost over! Well, I didn’t actually feel winter that much this year because Toronto had a VERY mild winter (not that I’m complaining). Its so mild that its only mid-March and the temperature this afternoon was 21 degrees Celcius! Thats May kind of weather!!! Since it has been very warm lately, the birds have started to come back and they’ve come back in full force! I can hear them tweeting and chirping all morning and afternoon from the backyard (this gets somewhat annoying after a while) and I can see them flying all over the place! Since there were tons of them in the backyard, I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to indulge myself by taking bird photos.
It was the perfect time to take bird photos because the birds loved to perch on the nearby tree branches and since its still technically winter, the branches are still bare so the birds are very easy to spot and photograph. All these shots are very wide because I do not own a super telephoto lens, my longest lens only goes up to 250mm (400mm EFL) and it was definitely not long enough to capture some of the birds. But I made do with what I had and also made Mr. Crop Tool my best friend! This is one of those times I really wish I had bought that Canon EF 800mm lens (in my dreams).
Well, here are the photos that I came up with during my afternoons of bird watching! Enjoy!
“A red cardinal perched on a tree branch – I was lucky to have seen one, the birds in the area are usually of the brown/grey variety.”
“These guys were lounging for a good 2 hours!”
“For some reason this reminds me of Twitter”
“A couple of birds”
There were also other types of “birds” that day. I never really knew that my house was in the middle of the flight path…. good thing the planes are already high up in the air and I can’t hear them passing over.
